My photos won't upload or disappeared

Trouble with images not uploading or showing? Here's what causes it and how to fix it.

If an image won't upload, or a photo seems to have vanished from your site, run through these checks.

If a photo won't upload

  • Use a common image format — JPG or PNG.
  • Very large files can be slow — give big images a moment to finish.
  • Check your internet connection and try the upload again.

If a photo disappeared

  • Make sure you republishedafter adding it — unpublished changes don't appear on the live site.
  • Do a hard refresh in case you're seeing a cached page.

Tip — Upload your own photos rather than linking to images hosted elsewhere — images you upload to SiteDrop stay put, while links to other sites can break if that site changes. See swapping and uploading photos.
