One click turns this page into a live, shareable link. Free preview, no card needed.
How to view HTML online
- Paste your HTML into the left box, or press “Open .html file”. A whole page or a snippet both work.
- The page renders on the right as you type. Switch between Desktop, Tablet and Phone to check it at each width.
- Edit the code and watch the preview update — fix a heading, swap a colour, change a link.
- When it looks right, press “Publish it live”. SiteDrop puts the page on a real, shareable link.
Tips for previewing HTML
Pasting from ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini
Copy the whole answer — the viewer takes off the ```html fence and the chat around it, so you see the page, not the code block.
Check it on a phone width
Most visitors will see your page on a phone. If text runs off the edge at Phone width, the page needs a viewport meta tag or a narrower layout.
Images and styles from other files
The viewer shows one HTML file. Images and stylesheets load if they use full web addresses (https://…); files on your computer won’t. To publish a site with its own image files, upload the folder as a .zip.
Scripts run safely
JavaScript in your page runs in the preview, inside a sealed frame that can’t see this site or your accounts.
Frequently asked questions
What is an HTML viewer?
A tool that renders HTML code as the web page it describes, so you can see the result without saving a file and opening it in a browser. This one also lets you edit the code live and publish the page.
Is the HTML viewer free?
Yes. Viewing and editing need no account and nothing you paste leaves your browser. Publishing a page to a live link needs a free SiteDrop account, and comes with a free preview — no card needed.
How do I open an .html file online?
Press “Open .html file” and choose it, or open it in any text editor and paste the code in. The page appears in the preview straight away.
Can I publish the HTML as a website?
Yes — that’s what the “Publish it live” button does. SiteDrop hosts the page on a sitedrop.live address you can share, and you can connect your own domain on a paid plan.
Why doesn’t my page look the same as on my computer?
Usually because it points at images, fonts or stylesheets saved on your computer. Use full https:// addresses for them, or upload the whole folder as a .zip so its files publish together.
