Building with AI

How to describe your business to get a great site

The single biggest thing you control: what you tell the AI. Learn what to include, see good vs vague examples, and know what to fix afterwards.

The quality of your site comes down to one thing you control: how well you describe your business. The AI builds around what you tell it, so a few specific sentences beat one vague line every time.

What to include

  • Who you are — your business name and what you do.
  • Who it's for — your typical customer.
  • Where you are — your town or area, if you serve locally.
  • What makes you different — your speciality, style, or promise.
  • What you want visitors to do — call, book, order, or enquire.

Good vs vague

Vague:“A plumber.”

Good:“Meadow & Co is a family plumbing business in Leeds, covering emergency repairs, boiler installs, and bathroom fit-outs for homeowners. We're Gas Safe registered and known for turning up on time. We want visitors to call for a free quote.”

What to fix afterwards

NoteTo make the page feel complete, the AI invents realistic-sounding details — example prices, opening hours, and testimonials. Treat these as placeholders: go through and replace them with your real information before you publish.

Once your first draft exists you can regenerate or refine it, then move on to editing the text and adding your own photos.
