We're Building Something New: AI Websites That Actually Look Premium

Since we launched SiteDrop, the mission has been simple: make getting a website as easy as possible. Drop a file, get a live site. Answer a few questions, get a finished page. It works — and thousands of businesses have gone live this way.

But we've never been satisfied with "good enough." Behind the scenes, our team has been quietly researching something that we think will fundamentally change what an AI-generated website can look and feel like.

Today, we want to share a first look at what's coming.

The Problem with AI Websites Today

Let's be honest: most AI-generated websites look like AI-generated websites. They're fine. They work. But they feel templated — same layouts, same font choices, same colour palettes. Put five of them side by side and they blur into one.

That's not because AI isn't capable of better. It's because the way most tools generate websites — dumping out raw HTML and CSS — has a fundamental ceiling. The AI has to get everything right in one shot: the design system, the typography, the colour theory, the responsiveness, the accessibility, the layout rhythm. One mistake and the whole thing looks off.

We asked ourselves a different question: what if the AI didn't have to get everything right? What if it only had to make the creative decisions — the ones it's actually good at — and a purpose-built engine handled the rest?

What We're Building

We can't share the full details yet — this is still in active R&D — but here's what we can say:

• Websites that look genuinely bespoke— not templated, not "AI-looking." Every site will feel like it was designed by a real art director who understood the business, the industry, and the vibe.
• A curated design language with real depth— we've developed a rich library of typography pairings, colour palettes, and layout recipes drawn from studying what makes premium agency websites actually premium. Think: Playfair Display paired with Inter for an editorial law firm, or Bebas Neue with Instrument Serif for a moody barbershop. The right design for the right business, every time.
• Pixel-perfect quality, guaranteed— contrast ratios that meet accessibility standards, typography scales that actually follow a modular system, responsive layouts that don't break on any screen. These aren't afterthoughts — they're baked in.
• AI-generated images that match — instead of generic stock photos, every image will be generated to match your specific business, industry, and colour scheme.

Early Results

We've been testing this internally across a range of real businesses — barbershops, restaurants, law firms, yoga studios, photography portfolios, SaaS products, and trade businesses. The results have genuinely surprised us.

Every test site came out looking like a different agency built it. Dark, moody, and editorial for a barbershop. Warm, organic, and inviting for a restaurant. Clean, structured, and trustworthy for a law firm. Not because we hard-coded those outcomes — but because the system understands what each industry needs and makes the right creative decisions automatically.

The goal is simple: you answer questions about your business, and what comes out the other side is a website you'd be proud to show anyone — not a website that looks like a chatbot made it.

What This Means for You

If you're already using SiteDrop, nothing changes about how your current site works. This is a new capability we're adding — and when it launches, it will be available to all SiteDrop users.

4. Still fully editable— you'll still be able to tweak text, swap images, and update content directly through SiteDrop, just like today.

When Is It Coming?

We're in the final stages of internal testing and refinement. We don't want to rush this — the whole point is that the quality bar is higher than anything else out there. We're aiming to roll it out to users later this year.
